Bringing a blend of neighborhood restaurants to Terminal 6 at LAX, the Food Collection is a colorful reflection of Los Angeles sidewalk dining culture. The Food Collection is anchored by Los Angeles based, international hamburger phenomenon The Counter which allowed customer to “build” their own burger with a dizzying array of options. Next door BLD, the flagship of celebrity chef Neil Frazer, brings gourmet dining to an airport setting with exotic menu options that are designed with cost conscious travellers in mind. The exuberance of the authentic south of the border dishes served at Loteria is matched by the lively colors and graphics, and it is a great place to enjoy a margarita while waiting for your gate to open. For coffee lovers, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is ready to prepare hot or cold beverage exactly the way you like it, and everyone’s favorite treat is available at Yogurtland.
The design and layout of the Food Collection was created to maximize the visibility of each Brand while maintaining as much seating area as possible. Although the entrance to the Food Collection is relatively narrow, the excitement of the dining options quickly draws customers in. A neutral Ardex floor is countered by an exciting suspended swirling Armstrong Libretto metal ceiling. All exposed services are painted matt black and disappear from view. Columns are treated with custom designed digital art, and customers are kept up to date in sports and news with TV monitors sprinkled throughout the space.
